- Machine description
The Heavy Duty series of machines
is a family of vertical turning lathes manufactured by Honor Seiki, designed for heavy-duty applications.
Vertical CNC turning centers are lathes with a vertical spindle axis and a rotating rotary table.
Vertical lathes are designed for machining cylindrical and conical (external and internal) surfaces, grooving, parting, end-face machining, and, when using fixtures, for contour turning, milling, thread cutting, and more.
The bed is a solid cast iron frame made of high-quality cast iron. The bed is the basic assembly unit of the machine, on which the other components are mounted. A precise cut can only be achieved with a rigid bed, which will dampen the vibrations generated during machine operation. A solid column with widely spaced rectangular box-type guideways.
These guideways are integral with the machine column. The use of box-type guideways enables high-precision machining with large stock removal rates and ensures long-term stable machine operation.
All guideway surfaces are ground and coated with a Turcite B anti-friction coating, ensuring precise alignment of components and increased movement accuracy. The bed design distributes cutting loads evenly across the guideways. Wide guideways ensure low specific loads and guarantee axial stability, maximum stability, and high structural rigidity. This improves positioning accuracy and repeatability.
Heavy Duty series machines can be equipped with a tool turret with a live tool (CM series - right) or without a live tool (C series - left).
